Emirati Culture has always fascinated me. I live in a country that has a legacy of Emirati culture and history. Kanz shows you how to bring this legacy into your classrooms. When I was a Math educator, I often linked my lessons to the UAE. My students were very motivated to learn Math concepts when I taught a Math lesson with a cross-curricular link to the UAE. I would like for you educators to experience this in your classrooms too. My goal is to bring much of the history and heritage of the UAE into the classrooms, promote place-based education and make learning interesting and enjoyable for students.
Born in Singapore and brought up in Malaysia and India, I moved to the UAE in 1993. I am a Master in Education, Bachelor in Mathematics and a Certified Accountant. I am also a volunteer teaching faculty for two online courses, ‘Course Curriculum’ and ‘Planning for Teaching and Learning (Foundation of Teaching and Learning)’ with the Commonwealth Education Trust, UK – Coursera. I have worked in the education sector for 10 years.
